“Getting Started” for all new branch staff

All Branch Staff employees will begin with our product knowledge training program, which is called “Getting Started”.  “Getting Started” will provide new employees with everything they need to know about our products, technical tinting procedures, our customer service approach, point of sales systems and inventory control.

Product and Supplier Training

At Cloverdale Paint, we understand that in order to serve our customers, you need to know how to determine the customers needs and make appropriate recommendations to our contractor and retail customers.  Therefore, we have extensive in house product training sessions, which focus on product knowledge and industrial products.  As well, our valued suppliers shared in the training experience of our staff by providing hands on specific product seminars to help our employees glean the information they need in their tool belt of knowledge.

Management Readiness

The management readiness program is offered to those employees who want to take the next step in their careers with Cloverdale Paint.  This is a pre-management training program, which focuses on the process of moving from a peer to a leader.  We cover topics such as: Policies & Procedures, Credit & Accounting, Branch Operations, Recruitment, Training, Communication and Administration.

Managing at Cloverdale Paint

Our Assistant Manager and Branch Managers participate in a series of training workshop learning the business of operating our branches. Managing at Cloverdale Paint focuses on our people. Topics include; Recruitment, Payroll, Optimizing Performance and the business side of running a branch, such as Sales, Reading Operating Statements and Inventory Control.

Sales Representative Training

Our Sales Representatives are experienced professionals who have specific product and technical knowledge of the paint and coatings that we sell. Sales Representatives participate in professional sales training courses, Confined Space and H2S (GAS) Training and our Industrial Representatives are NACE Certified.

NACE International is recognized around the world as the premier authority for corrosion control solutions and setting standards for the corrosion industry. Nace Coating Inspectors have practical and theoretical knowledge of coatings and coating inspection.  In depth knowledge of advance inspection techniques and specialized application of both steel and concrete, an enhanced level of expertise of surface preparation, coating types, inspection criteria and failure modes for various coatings including specialized coatings and linings.
