Director, Human Resources
Many employees at Cloverdale Paint talk about their accidental career, as most people don’t initially think about a career in the paint industry. However, much of our success is due to the fact that we have attracted and retained a great group of people who have had very successful ‘accidental careers’ at Cloverdale Paint.
The secret to our success is our people, their dedication to the company and the superior products that we manufacture and sell. As we continue to grow we are looking for an experienced human resources professional to be responsible for the ‘people’ side of our business. This includes staff working in retail operations, sales, administration, laboratories, manufacturing & warehousing. The ideal candidate will have hands on human resource leadership experience with an understanding of the ‘big picture’ strategic approach of building solid relationships. Working in the recruitment, training, employee relations, payroll, compensation and benefits areas of the company, your experience will lead future direction in this competitive marketplace.
The employee relations side of this position is hands-on and will require some travel throughout western Canada to meet with our staff, provide leadership training and participate in staff events. The business side will require strategic alignment with various departments, negotiations of compensation and benefits plans and to ensure all legal requirements of employment are adhered to.
Our wish list for the successful candidate:
- CHRP designation preferred
- 7 – 10 years of progressive leadership in human resources
- Experienced coaching and employee relations skills
- Adept at handling all levels of employment issues
- Understanding of collective agreements, the Employment Standards Act and other related statutory legislation.
- Understanding of employee benefits and plan alternatives.
- Leading forward thinking in developing training programs to meet upcoming employment challenges
- Superior communication skills working in a consensus driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical and numbers driven to understand operating statements, contribution and profit models.
The successful candidate will thrive on the energy of our people and have the creativity to initiate new paths in a changing employment world.
